Step 1: Start off on the right foot.   
Starting with the first day of school, get to class on time. Pay attention to what the teacher says. Be on your best behavior. If the teachers asks if you have any questions try to come up with at least one, and a maximum of two. This way, you draw attention to yourself without being an annoying suck up. If the teacher is in charge of a club you might be interested in, get some friends to go with you to the meetings. Always be polite, and ALWAYS be prepared.
