Guide to being a Teacher's Pet by ~jaspin:iconjaspin:

Leslie's Comprehensive Guide to being a Teacher's Pet

Step 1: Start off on the right foot.

Starting with the first day of school, get to class on time. Pay attention to what the teacher says. Be on your best behavior. If the teachers asks if you have any questions try to come up with at least one, and a maximum of two. This way, you draw attention to yourself without being an annoying suck up. If the teacher is in charge of a club you might be interested in, get some friends to go with you to the meetings. Always be polite, and ALWAYS be prepared. Do what your teacher asks, and put forth your best effort.

Step 2: Keep it up.

This is the hardest step for most people. Keep up your "good student" act. Keep doing your work and being ready and paying attention. DO NOT ask to many questions, and DO NOT start to talk about yourself to the teacher unless they ask about you. If you start to fall into suck-up mode, the teacher will NOT like you. Nobody like a suck-up. But say "hi" to your teachers if you see them in the hallways or out in public. Continue your act for 1 1/2 to 2 months, minimum. If the teacher starts to tease you, it is a good sign. It means they like you. Before moving onto the next step, make sure that you are safe. Be sure that the teacher likes you.

Step 3: Relax

Everyone's favorite step. This is where you can come into class late, slack off on your homework, and be free to bend a few classroom rules. Whatever you do, make sure that you still act like you care about the class. Do most of your homework, be in class on time most og the time. Answer a few questions sometimes. At this point, the teacher should like you enough to let you slide with a few things. You should be able to convince the teacher to let you listen to music/play games/do something fun in her class- but only every once in a while. The teacher will know if you try to use your position as teacher's pet to your advantage. IF THE TEACHER GETS MAD AT YOU FOR ANYTHING, START OVER WITH STEP ONE. Hoeever, Step 2 will not have to last 2 months, it can usually last about 2-3 weeks. ALWAYS BE SURE TO ACT LIKE YOU CARE ABOUT THE TEACHER'S CLASS. NEVER, EVER SUCK UP TO THE TEACHER!!!

*Notes: Works best when started at the beginning of the school year. Always be sure the teacher does not consider you a suck-up. DO NOT OVERUSE THIS METHOD OR ABUSE YOUR POSITION.

Author's Comments

Wrote this for fun, because my IRL friends are always jealous that I can get my teachers to do me little favors- getting rid of a test question I missed because it was a "bad question", getting the teacher to lend me things (like a deck of cards), distracting the teacher enough/convincing them not to give us homework, and getting away with little things.
This method should NOT be overused.
